Tulane University has launched Louisiana’s only comprehensive ophthalmic plaque brachytherapy program for the treatment of eye cancers — a milestone that represents a major advancement for cancer care in the state.

The program, led by Dr. Paul Finger and colleagues Dr. Tomar and Dr. Harris, means that patients who previously had to travel out of state for this specialized treatment can now receive cutting-edge eye cancer therapy close to home.

Liberty Vision congratulates the entire Tulane ophthalmology team on this achievement. Expanding access to plaque brachytherapy is a mission we share, and it’s exciting to see programs like this bring life-changing treatment options to more patients and communities.
